Our Standards:

We are dedicated to everyone's tastebuds, to Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants, to offering the highest quality products, to providing excellent value, to visual and tactile beauty, to the happiness of every recipient, and we assure you:

We sell what we love

We support companies selling high quality, healthy, artistically packaged, environmentally conscious products. We will only sell items that are preservative-free, are free of any added colors and artificial ingredients, are cruelty-free, hypoallergenic, contain only natural and organic ingredients, that are nourishing, and are certain to be yummy, fresh, and abundantly pleasing. Here's a fact you'll appreciate...only full-size products go in the gift sets, so your recipient gets an armload of exceptional value.

Our packaging is minimal

Would a company that uses "take your canvas bag" as their motto pack their shipments in excessive packaging? No way! We gave it some serious thought, we researched, dug into options, we talked to various experts in the field, we posed the tough questions: what will protect our shipments, what will make our customers happy, all along taking the highest road we can for the sustainability of our environment? It was a task we did not take lightly and guess what we realized....less is more.

Our high standards extend to every detail, including how we package our shipments. You'll find only recycled and recyclable uninked newsprint in recylable shipping boxes. Little did we know that the decision to sell canvas bags in place of baskets would be so brilliant....these cool canvas bags protect and contain the goodies inside like wrapping paper, only better because they will be used over and over again. A small amount of real raffia (palm fronds) is used to hold the bag closed, voila!  It's a naturally beautiful gift.

To be considered organic, it must be:

> grown on farms where renewable resources and conservation of the soil and water are standard practices.
> antibiotic, synthetic ingredient, sewage sludge, bioengineering and radiation free.
> certified organic by inspection and overseen by the USDA, adhering to strict standards.
> manufactured and handled by certified organic companies.

For additional information on organic products please visit: The USDA Organic information pages - http://www.ams.usda.gov/nop/indexIE.htm and the Quality Assurance International (QAI) pages - http://www.qai-inc.com/

Why organic products benefit you

> The nutritional value of the food is consistently higher.
> The process of being organic preserves the earth, increases the fertility of the soil, and naturally increases the resistance of plants to diseases and pests.
> Toxic chemicals never enter your home or your body with organically produced products.
> Organically produced items conserve biodiversity.

We seek out companies that subscribe to Fair Trade practices

Fair Trade is a way of conducting business, primarily in developing countries through out the world, promoting ongoing industries that are committed to paying living wages, using environmentally sustainable practices, and assuring that working conditions are safe, that employers and workers are educated on excellent practices and that they are given solid skills to maintain stable businesses and communities.

Why Fair Trade is of utmost importance

By purchasing Fairly Traded items, you are supporting the positive effects that come about from these practices: workers are paid fair, living wages for their labor, they work humane hours under safe conditions, the environment is treated kindly, and the most impoverished communities around the world are taken from a marginalized status to self-sufficiency and are therefore able to more easily access a higher quality of life including health care and education for both workers and the surrounding communities.
